Monkey bum #2

Monkey bum #2 saw a picture of Monkey bum #1's fake fingernails, so naturally she went hunting for the rest of them. This involves her scaling her sisters's bed and dresser both, and reaching into drawers I don't know how she reaches, unless she has go-go-gadget arms. Which maybe she does. She never fails to surprise me. After prancing around for an hour waiting for her sister to come home so she could ask if she could wear them.......Voila!. With 7 overly large plastic nails affixed to her tiny digits. I wonder how many I'll find in the carpet this time...

Easter

Coloring eggs with Grandma and Grandpa and Jared........and that goof ball in the blue shirt.....
We had a nice Easter. Thankfully the weather was beautiful outside, and Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen and Jared and Tait could come up for dinner. We flew kites outside and Tait had some crazy kites that we all got to play with. One of them was strong enough to fly our girls away--so of course that was their favorite. They colored eggs and hid eggs and ate eggs, and then ate candy and ate candy and ate candy. Aislyn woke up in the morning, and after seeing her basket, she said, "The easter bunny brought me candy even though I was naughty!" Her and Cetera discussed it and decided that the easter bunny and Santa must be in cahoots with each other, but they are still both kind to naughty children who have to be dragged out of stores by their dads, football style, both screaming their heads off, so mommies can finish shopping.

What my kids have been doing........

...since the weather outside was frightful until last week. Cetera is learning gymnastics at her dance studio.....and she comes home and practices her head/handstands frequently. Weeze follows suit and TA DA! It's a rare hour when one of them is not shouting, "Mom! Look at my headstand/cartwheel/flip!".
Thanks Aunt Celeste! Cetera LUVS her nails! :) She was very distressed, however, when she woke up in the morning and most of them were gone......without a trace. I found them in the carpet for the next two weeks. I think I'm going to get some myself!

And.....this is what Weeze does when I'm on the phone with Aunt Celeste. When Spencer found her emptying my lotion bottle, she said she was 'washing herself'. And, apparently, the carpet, my pillow and the bed rail as well.

I've been neglectful......but I have reasons.....

Goodness......having your husband work from home has put a new twist on our daily routines....one of which is my spending any time near a computer. If I go into the office, the children will invariably follow, which disruption of effective work-time follows, which makes Dad grumpy, which makes children whiney, which makes mom ornery. All of which is easily avoided when I steer clear of the office. Thus......no blogging, emailing, or anything of the sort. So, today Spencer is off meeting with people, and I only have one child here currently, so here I am--blogging away!
To redeem myself even more, we have been busy with other projects......which I'll happily showcase here.....for whomever has the time and/or patience to actually care about looking at them. Ha ha.
And here they are:
It's only two pictures...but there really was a LOT of time involved in both......painting Aislyn's room, putting up chair rail...and the shelf. The three smaller bedrooms got shelves, plus the office. Between her room and painting all the shelf stuff and the chair rail, I felt like I painted for two days straight. Oh, and I actually SEWED her pillow on her bed (the black one), and after sewing three/fourths of the trim around the edge, I realized I'd sewed it in wrong side out (of course), and spent an hour picking it out. Once again, I took an hour project and turned it into three. :) When I asked Weeze what she thought of her new pillow, she said, "Not good!". When we asked what she thought of her newly painted room, she said, "Um......not good. I wanted blue."
And the chair seats......this turned out to be way more time consuming than of course I originally thought (typical for me and my projects). After replacing the foam in these and in two of our couches, I'm starting to believe they don't make anything of quality anymore. BUT, new foam makes a HUGE difference. We can sit on our chairs now and not feel the board biting our legs. I tried getting material to match the two chairs I redid in our entryway.......and I couldn't find the exact....but it's close enough.
So, with inside stuff done for now....we can start to tackle the yard again. Why did we want such a big yard??? Spencer spent 2 1/2 hours mowing down the foot tall grass last Saturday. It has finally stopped snowing enough to let him do it. Weeds, here I come!
