Stuff my kids said to me today......

So one of the reasons I like doing hair so much is because that's when I chat with my gals. For Cetera especially, hair time turns into a Q and A session. I'm usually surprised at the things she asks about, since I can tell she's put some serious thought into it.
Today she asked:
"Mom, do hens and roosters get married?"
"No, have you seen chickens go to a church and wear wedding dresses?"
"No, (laughs). Well, then how do animals become mommies and daddies? Y'know, like wolves?"
"Well, when they have babies." (At this point I'm starting to listen very carefully......)
"So, how do they have babies then? It's not when they get married? How do they do it?"
"Well.......(and then I launched into a very sterile description of how mommies have eggs that the daddies fertilize and then that makes a baby). And deep breath.
She was satisfied with that....for the moment. :)
Then my little Weeza comes running up the stairs and pops in the bathroom. I notice she has bits of food in her eyebrow, on her nose, and on her chin.
I said to her:
"Why is there food all over your face Weeze?"
"Cuz I was eating my cereal and I went Achoo!"
"Oh--what did you eat?"
"I had Sweaty Wheat. You know, the little squares with the shoogar on top?"

Hee hee. I love my kids. They keep me entertained. I think I'll have some Sweaty Wheat for lunch.

What I found in Cetera's coat pocket......

I had Cetera bring me her grubby nasty stinky coat the other day so I could wash it, since everything she wears to school ends up smelling (and looking like) the school bus.

This is what I found in her pockets:

A smooshed (and warm) sugar cookie.
And of course, a set of pink vampire teeth.
It was just random and gross enough that I had to record it. A day in the life of Cetera's pockets. :)

To Aislyn Noelle on her 4th Birthday

I want to help you grow as beautiful as God meant you to be when he thought of you first.

- George MacDonald

I hate how your face crumples when you are hurt.
I hate when you are away from me too long.
I hate that you are growing up way too fast.
I hate when I am upset with you.
I hate when you are upset with me.
I hate when you are sick.

I love how you ask for snacks at least 12 times a day.
I love how you whisper in my ear, "Mom, I don't hate you".
I love how you sing to yourself in the bathroom.
I love how you ask me to give you 14 of everything: snuggles, candy, kisses.
I love how the only thing you ever want to eat is Mac and Cheese.
I love how quietly you sit with me.
I love your beautiful hair and your little nose.
I love your sweet personality.
I love your hugs, they are the best in the world.
I love how good you are to your big sister.
I love your sad lip.

I love you my squeezie. Happy Birthday!

My Weeza's Princess Tea Party- January '10

Our little Weeza turned 4. Sniff. And she had her first birthday party to celebrate. She requested a 'tea party, Mommy, so I can have princess friends over'. So we had a Princess Tea Party, with all of her gal pals. It was a FAH-bulous event.
Ahem.....the TeaPot Cake. Yes. I'm proud of it. I worked hard, and it was cute. :D
We started the event with makeup application: Blush, lipstick, eyeshadow, the works.
We even had Princess Hair!
All the princesses!
There was dancing (and ca-razy dancing!)
The Princesses made royal wand/scepters.
And spent a good deal of time eating princess tea party food (little sandwiches, cookies, carrots, and I think even a few Otter Pops got in there).
Weeze got to open some lovely gifts, of which she was most grateful and gracious.
Modeling their thank you gifts--Tutus. Some were happier than others.....
Dad and Weeze looking over the new Polly Pockets. :) My favorite!
Weezie even gave mom some post party squeezes.
And smooches!
I love you my Aislyn! I can't believe you are 4! You are all grown up!

Trip to Phoenix--January 10

Dano hooked us gals up with some tickets to Phoenix in Jan., they were cheap, Cetera had school off, and I needed a vacation--so off we went!
We love Uncle Dave! At Dave's house. Thanks Dave and Garrett for hosting us, and for all the yummy food!
The girls and Grandma.
Dave has 8 dogs--5 of which are chihuahuas. Pikachu is by far the favorite (and the tiniest), which is why the girls felt it necessary to constantly tote the poor little thing around. If a girly was awake, then Piki had a ride.
We love Uncle Dano!
Dave and his tiny new car that is very fun and very fast.
At the Phoenix Zoo. I love having 65 degree weather during January.
Weeze, Dave, Bubbers, and the baboons.
More baboons.......er, girlies.
Camel rides were all the rage. Look at the handler--it's clear she enjoys her job immensely.
These guys were my favorite. I had to include them cuz I thought they were pretty awesome. I call my kids monkeys all the time, but these guys were a lot more calm and quiet than my girls.
Loving the Komodo dragon.
And Dave loves it too. :)
