So one of the reasons I like doing hair so much is because that's when I chat with my gals. For Cetera especially, hair time turns into a Q and A session. I'm usually surprised at the things she asks about, since I can tell she's put some serious thought into it.
Today she asked:
"Mom, do hens and roosters get married?"
"No, have you seen chickens go to a church and wear wedding dresses?"
"No, (laughs). Well, then how do animals become mommies and daddies? Y'know, like wolves?"
"Well, when they have babies." (At this point I'm starting to listen very carefully......)
"So, how do they have babies then? It's not when they get married? How do they do it?"
"Well.......(and then I launched into a very sterile description of how mommies have eggs that the daddies fertilize and then that makes a baby). And deep breath.
She was satisfied with that....for the moment. :)
Then my little Weeza comes running up the stairs and pops in the bathroom. I notice she has bits of food in her eyebrow, on her nose, and on her chin.
I said to her:
"Why is there food all over your face Weeze?"
"Cuz I was eating my cereal and I went Achoo!"
"Oh--what did you eat?"
"I had Sweaty Wheat. You know, the little squares with the shoogar on top?"
Hee hee. I love my kids. They keep me entertained. I think I'll have some Sweaty Wheat for lunch.
